National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program (NTHMP) General Email List
The National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program (NTHMP) -- more information here -- has a general email list that is used by the NTHMP Administrator, Rocky Lopes, to send occasional messages via email to people who are interested in the activities of the NTHMP.
The NTHMP email list is not used to provide real-time notifications about tsunami alerts such as information statements, tsunami threat messages, tsunami watches, tsunami advisories, or tsunami warnings.
To see real-time tsunami event information, visit the tsunami.gov website.
If you wish to sign up for tsunami bulletins through the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, visit this page on the International Tsunami Information Center website.
Alerts and notifications from U.S. domestic states and localities (counties, cities, etc.) may be available directly from the respective state or locality. Visit that state's or locality's website for more information, or contact your local emergency management office for more details. (NOAA/National Weather Service or the NTHMP does not maintain a list of self-subscribe state or local notification systems.) Information about third-party subscriber services is here.
The NTHMP email list is used to provide information about activities of the United States-based NTHMP, its meetings, products, and information of general interest related to tsunami mapping & modeling; mitigation & education; and warning coordination in the United States and its territories (only).
If this interests you, then send an email to the NTHMP Administrator, Rocky.Lopes@noaa.gov to request manual addition to the list. Also email Rocky if you want to be removed from the list. Email addresses that bounce as undeliverable will also be removed.
We used to have a self-subscribing email listserv, but it was discontinued due to Federal Government cybersecurity concerns.
