Note: The NTHMP Coordinating Committee voted on August 23, 2019, to swap the former "summer subcommittee meetings" to winter, and move the Annual Meeting to summer. The Winter Meeting will consist of these activities:

Mapping & Modeling Subcommittee (MMS) Meeting

This meeting will be held over three days from Tuesday through Thursday, February 1 - February 3, 2022

This is a regularly-scheduled in-person business meeting of the MMS. The primary purpose of this meeting is to conduct routine subcommittee business: to update the MMS Annual Work Plan and Vision Plan, and discuss technical matters and collaborative products. .

Who should attend:

  • Science Representatives who serve on the NTHMP Coordinating Committee.
  • Appointed MMS members and guests
  • Others who are interested may attend this open meeting.



Mitigation & Education Subcommittee (MES) Meeting

This meeting will be held over three days from Tuesday through Thursday, February 1 - February 3, 2022

This is a regularly-scheduled in-person business meeting of the MES. The primary purpose of this meeting is to conduct routine subcommittee business and to update the MES Annual Work Plan. Draft meeting agenda is here.

Warning Coordination Subcommittee (WCS) Meeting

This meeting will be held over three days from Tuesday through Thursday, February 1 - February 3, 2022

This is a regularly-scheduled in-person business meeting of the WCS. The primary purpose of this meeting is to conduct routine subcommittee business: to update the WCS Annual Work Plan, and discuss technical matters and collaborative products. .

Who should attend:

  • Representatives who serve on the NTHMP Coordinating Committee.
  • Appointed MMS members and guests
  • Others who are interested may attend this open meeting.


NTHMP Island Caucus

This meeting will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

The NTHMP Island Caucus is an informal, non-voting group formed to exchange ideas and information about tsunami issues specific to islands. .

Who should attend:

  • People who represent or have interests related to U.S. island state (Hawaii) and territories (American Samoa, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands).
  • Pacific Tsunami Warning Center representatives
  • International Tsunami Information Center and Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program representatives
  • Others who are interested may attend this open meeting.


NTHMP Mitigation & Recovery Planning Work Group

This meeting will be held February 1, 2022 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

The NTHMP Mitigation & Recovery Planning Work Group is a non-voting group formed to . .

Who should attend:

  • People who represent or have interests related to U.S. island state (Hawaii) and territories (American Samoa, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands).
  • Pacific Tsunami Warning Center representatives
  • International Tsunami Information Center and Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program representatives
  • Others who are interested may attend this open meeting.


NTHMP Coordinating Committee Meeting

This meeting will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 8:30am to 11:00am.

This is a regularly-scheduled in-person business meeting of the NTHMP Coordinating Committee.

Who should attend:  NTHMP Coordinating Committee members

While all meetings are open (unless there is a reason for the Coordinating Committee to vote to close a part of it), generally only voting members of the Coordinating Committee, ex-officio members, and designated guests attend this meeting.

Remote call-in information provided to voting members of the Coordinating Committee.


Meeting Registration and Attendees

On-line registration for this meeting is not available. All attendees must register in advance by contacting Ian Sears with details on which meetings you will attend and your contact information.

No "drop-ins" please!  Due to space limitations, anyone not previously registered will not be admitted.

A block of rooms will be reserved.

Rooms may continue to be available, but at prevailing rates once the room block is released.

The hotel offers free in-room internet, fitness center, bar and restaurant.


Ground Transportation in Portland

The meeting location, hotels, and restaurants are within walking distance of each other. The Portland Tri-Met Light Rail system connects the airport to downtown for just $2.50, so no rental car is required. The closest red line rail station to the Doubletree Hotel and Oregon State Office Building is Lloyd Center.
