..Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday, mainly south of line from Gainesville to Saint Augustine…

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville is tracking the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday (mainly southern portion of the forecast area), as a deepening low pressure system treks from the Eastern Gulf of Mexico into north central Florida. Confidence is very low how far north the warm front will move into north central Florida and how much unstable air will be realized and available for the development of severe weather. At this time, it looks like the warm front will be just south of or at the door step of Marion and Flagler counties. At this time, the highest potential for a severe threat on Tuesday appears to be between 9 am and 3 pm mainly south a line from Gainesville to Saint Augustine.

With possibility of isolated strong to severe storms along and south of this line, and there will be a potential for:

  • Damaging Wind Gusts
  • Dangerous Lightning
  •  A Tornado

This serves as a message to be situationally aware of the low confidence, but high impact potential of strong to severe weather Tuesday, mainly south of a line from Gainesville to Saint Augustine.
