Much Colder Weekend anticipated for Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida

On Thursday, a cold front will be on the doorstep of Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida. Warm temperatures are expected Thursday…with near record high temperatures…due to the west and southwest winds ahead of the front Thursday night.


Also, on Thursday, rain chain chances increase with the Suwannee Valley of Northeast Florida and interior SE Georgia anticipating 60 to 80 percent chances of rain with embedded but isolated chances of thunder.

On Thursday night, a cold front will cross the region with perhaps with numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms. Much drier air will work its way into the region Friday afternoon with temperatures finally dropping to near normal.  On Saturday and Sunday, dry and much cooler weather is anticipated under dominating high pressure system.  Lows will be 30s for inland locations Saturday and Sunday mornings, with minimums in the mid 40s along the immediate NE Florida coast.


Highs on Saturday will be mainly in the mid 50s across the entire region with sunny skies and cool conditions.
