Meeting Facility Security Requirements

***Important***   NOAA has changed what IDs are acceptable for entry!   Full details here

NOAA requires any one of the following forms of ID to enter the PMEL facility where we are meeting:

  • U.S. DOD Common Access Card (CAC)
  • U.S. Passport
  • U.S. Passport Card
  • U.S. Department of Defense CAC
  • U.S. Federal agency HSPD-12 compliant ID cards
  • U.S. Veterans ID
  • U.S. Military Dependent's ID Card
  • U.S. Trusted Traveler Card -- Global Entry, SENTRI, or NEXUS
  • U.S. Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • State issued Real ID Compliant Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards.
  • Driver's licenses from these states/territories do NOT comply
    with the Real ID Act and will NOT be accepted at NOAA Security:

  • Alaska
  • American Samoa
  • Massachusetts
  • (non-Enhanced DL) from Washington

If you are a U.S. National and have a driver's license from these states, then BRING YOUR PASSPORT if you don't have a CAC.

If you are NOT a U.S. National--even if you have a Permanent Residence Card--you are considered to be a Foreign National Visitor.
